Things that can affect the click rates for a message

There are a lot of things that can affect the click rates for a message.

One could be delivery rates... but they are actually very good with ViralURL.  Only about 1% of messages bounce.

Take a look at e.g. the delivery stats for April 23rd:

What else can affect it is who receives the messages...

a) did they maybe see the offer before?

b) how many other messages did that get on the day they receive a particular message?

c) did they get the message on a day and at a time they usually check their emails?

d) where are those receiver located that received a particular message? USA, India, Australia, Spain?

e) is the content of the message of interest to those particular receivers and are they able & willing to take action?

So basically... it's hard to say why a particular message gets more clicks or less clicks then another.

I tend to recommend to try to change subject lines and messages and keep tracking the results. But don't just stop using a particular subject line or body because you got bad results once, but try sending it multiple times, switching back and forth between 2 versions for 10-20 mailings and then decide on the total results.
